Default Who's been to Dunedin then?

Hi everyone,

We're looking at different options and possibilities of moving down to the south island. Dunedin has often come up, so have any of you been there? If so, can you give us your honest opinions? We're getting some interesting views from people here in Auckland, (although most people we come across, friends included, don't originate from Auckland!)
Any and every aspect of living in Dunedin would be much appreciated lovlies.... :)

Hi Deb,

Everyone I have spoken to loved Dunedin but said work opportunities just weren't there.

Dont know much else apart from that.

Stu and I are going South from Aug-Nov and plan to hit Dunedin so will let you know how it is then.

Hope things are going well for you and Eddie.

A

Hi Amy,
Thankyou for that, snippets are just as interesting as major news, ha!
There maybe a possible job oppotunity so we're just weighing it all up for the moment. We've made some lovely friends here though so will surely miss them if we did move but I quite fancy the quieter life you know...
You're having a long holiday from August then? How lovely,
Seems quiet here (forum) again, where is everybody from the 'old' days? Ha... she says!
Bye for now, speak to you soon,
x

Hi Deb,

Macfod's in Dunedin so he'd be the one to give you the low-down. ?Perhaps he'll find his way down to this thread when he's got a moment. ?

Hi Macfod,

Eddie and I would be very grateful for your opinions etc... thankyou. I'll pm you with specifics if you don't mind?
And congratulations on what must be the happy news you've been waiting for. I'd read some of your posts at a later stage and could see that things were tricky so well done in your persuasiveness!

yes pm me with your questions as my mind is filled with running a business at the moment and now having an offer accepted on a property to complete in three weeks time!

Prices are not a low as they used to be now and its unfortunate in some ways we didnt arrive earlier, but I get the feeling Dunedin is growing quit nicely and if they get more direct flights it will become a more popular tourist place.
Along with the annual migration of 20,000 students.

Would love to hear from you and help where I can.

Mark and Chris

Thanks Mark and Chris,

Blimey you're really going for it, good for you guys, that's obviously the way to go, it's paying off well that way, ha.

I have pm'd you and forgot to ask if you could recommend the nicest areas to live? Do you know if Portobello is ok?
Thanks for your help.
Debra
