South Auckland??

Thanks everybody for your comments. i have had a good look around the area (The Gardens) and am fairly convinced it is a good place to stay. I probably will try and rent somewhere first but have not seen a single rental within this school zone. Only main problem with the area is the distance from some relatives who are in Titirangi!!

Shopping etc looks good with Botany Downs only 10 mins away which I hear is the largest shopping centre in Australasia!! (wife will be chuffed He he!)

When I was in Melbourne I heard the biggest was....Chadstone?

There wasn't an article for Botony Downs.

Oh man, my appologies. I just said something in Oz is better than something in NZ. But having been to both places.....Chadstone is HUGE. It has 4 food courts for cryin out loud! [smiley=icon_lol.gif]

I dont know but someone suggested to me that Botany was THE biggest

If anything we might get a bit of a debate going.....

Botany - Been once for 6 (yes 6) minutes. Hell on earth in my opinion! Full of Essex ex pats with badly behaved kids. Got straight back in the car and drove! Sorry if I offended anyone....

Westfield Albany (on the shore) I think will be the biggest centre in Australasia when it opens. But you wouldn't catch me in any of those places anyway!

As for South Auckland, yeah Otara isn't advisable, but nowhere is unsafe. Like everyone says, rent first, you'll get the measure of the city in a few months.
