Default What is a Bedsit?

Hi all,

First, thanks to SteveyC for the real estate website.. I was browsing for rental properties and I saw a ad listing for a Bedsit. Can someone tell me if a Bedsit is common in NZ, popular or even legal? I mean looking at the size of the property, it looks like it just roll into place from the back of the trailer from the Bedsit factory.. [smiley=icon_wink.gif]: It is so tiny, probably just enough to fit one person squeezing in two will be tough..

It is sure interesting to see such property up for rental...much like living in the back of a campervan. Only in this case this Bedsit also looks like it was detached from the back of a campervan.

'Small' is the word, Pulsarblu. There's a fuller explanation of 'bedsit' here

If that is the definition, it is known as One-Room flat in Singapore.

hehe lots of them in UK. Quite cool if you can't be bothered/too drunk to move around your house cos you can reach everything from everywhere. Also very cheap in comparrison to everything else if all you want is a bed and somewhere to chill away from everything as a student etc.

It's roomier than the camp trailer (caravan) that I first lived in at university. But it has less character.
