More like a sort of outsized anderson shelter.....not that I remember them but we found one at the bottom of the garden in our previous house, for anyone who doesn't know thay were buried and used as air raid shelters during WW2 so I am led to believe ::): .

Not my cuppa; it looks like an updated quonset hut.

$470,000 to live in an outsized pigpen.
What is it about the colour sense of the kiwis? Shops and factories don't have to be bright orange or red or blue to be noticeable do they?

Yes, looking through the estate agents' sites, it's amazing how many properties have heavily coloured walls - a token feature wall in a bold colour, if not the whole room. Some of the colours are so dark as well, the whole room looks gloomy. Makes me think back to the UK in the '70s/'80s when this sort of thing was all the rage.

Hehe I like it externally anyway.

Does anyone watch 'Property Rescue' with Peter Reid, Wayne Bowden and Petra somebody? It's one of the few NZ programs we get to watch and is basically a NZ version changing rooms on Real Estate TV. They're always doing feature walls and deep coloured rooms and more alarmingly pouring concrete EVERYWHERE, it's hideous and stupidly unenvironmentally friendly. Anyway it always makes us laugh but leaves us feeling a bit uneasy about the Kiwi sense of humour as the jokes on the show are soooo bad.

The other Kiwi programs we watch whenever they're on is 'The Zoo' about Auckland Zoo on Reality TV and 'Motorway Patrol (or something)' which shows the terrible state of the countries motorists and general lawlessness. hehe NOT the two things the program showed this time, they pulled over someone who SHOCK HORROR had a dodgy tyre and then they had to stop some evil law-breaking (wait for it) hitchhikers who were hitching on the motorway. What does the cop do tho? Takes them further down the road to an ideal spot for hitchhikers hehe. The best bit....the hitchhikers were trying to get to the Hari Chrishna (spelt?) farm near Hamilton hehe.

Fantastic. :icon_lol:

The Hari Krishnas are still around? I remember them wandering through the airports pushing flowers for 'donations' in SF during the 70s.
