Auckland - where to live ?

Hi,

I would like to ask for an advice those that are in Auckland.

I am trying to find some rental house in a suburb that has some shops and pubs around and is easy to cumute to Takapuna and CBD?

I have seen Northshore - Takapuna is not bad, I just wondered how are Parnell or Ponsonby...or anything else?

Where are you going to be working? And will you have a car?

Parnell & Ponsonby are both possible, although to Takapuna bank on about 20-25 mins in the car and up to an hour on the bus and or ferry.

If you are on the shore, check out Northcote, Birkenhead, Glenfield, and even up to Albany. All cheaper than Takapuna, but still have lots of facilities.

I work on takapuna beach, don't have a car yet, but I might buy one soon. What I want is apartment:
1. on the beach
2. with cafes around
3. up to 500 pw
4. small garden

I am nor sure ehther it is possible...maybe too many things at once... [smiley=icon_confused.gif]
