Default stamp duty ??
We are looking to buy a house in wellington - does anyone know how much tax we would have to pay on a property ??

I'm 99% sure I've read that there is no stamp duty to pay in NZ. Go to this site it seems to have the basic steps for buying a property. http://www.lawyers.org.nz/general/la....htm#checklist
