Default Hawkes Bay

Helloo
We were originally set on Wellington Area but am starting to get put off by all the talk of 'wind'. Sounds like it can be really annoying and the last thing I want is for nice summers days to consistantly ruined by wind chill factor, especially with the sunburn issues that are inevitable when the suns burning but you're not hot.
Sooo we're thinking about the Hawke's Bay/Napier area, what are jobs and house prices like here and are they comparible to Wellington or Auckland, cheaper/dearer?
Aucklands too hot and need the extra points, where else on north island is there a reasonable population centre and niceish weather.

Hi, I'm living in Waipukurua,50mins outside Napier. We go there every weekend as it has loads of nice cafe/bars and is very nice. Having watched weather forecasts for 3months I can tell you that Hawkes Bay gets the best weather in whole of north island. Top temp would be 31 degrees. It's hot and dry in summer. Cools down in winter but frost is as bad as it gets.
