Areas in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty

Looking to migrate to this area in the near future but we are finding it hard to narrow down the districts.

Has anyone got any info on this area, ie good schools, quiet area, crime, property prices etc.

Hi Both,
Tauranga district is a beautiful place. We've lived there for 3 months now, and love the area. There are many good points, and few bad, so i'll give you a brief run-down on both sides...

Good things: Very beautiful, relaxed area. Great feeling of space and kept immaculately clean. There is pretty much anything you could need there, and a good few of the schools are of a very high standard.

Bad points: House prices have tripled in the last 18 months in certain areas. Wages in the area are rather low in comparison to how much you would need to earn to be able to afford one of those houses.

If you have any ideas about where in the Tauranga district you would like to live (Tauranga, Mount Maunganui or Papamoa etc) then ask away. I can narrow down the good and not so god bits for you that way!
