Nyrem,
Take a look at something like http://www.realenz.co.nz or http://www.ljhooker.co.nz as they usually have a good range of rental properties available, even if you only use them as a guide!

You could try

www.open2view.com

It's mostly for buyers, but there are some rental properties on there.

We've just been out looking for rental properties today in Wellington (where we've decided we'd like to settle for the mo!) and you can expect to pay from $300 - $350 per week for a 1 bed flat in the centre, or around $250 - $300 per week for a 2/3 bed house in the subarbs (15 mins drive into the CBD).

Any more help I can give, let me know!

Jodie

Hi,
You could try my list:

http://www.angelfire.com/hi5/neuraln...landlinks.html

Click on 'Renting'.

The Yellow pages should help with places.
The others on 'safe renting' !

I hope that helps

Steve

Hi All,

You could get info from the Wellington Renter. It's a free guide to rental accomodation in the Wellington region plus they have a website www.renter.co.nz

Another good website is www.homelet.co.nz

Cheers,

Donna :icon_razz:

Default Any recommendations for Wellington area please?

Hello everyone!!

We arrived in NZ almost 3 weeks ago and are in Devonport, Auckland at the moment... My hubby has found a job! so we are going through the immigration process... Thank goodness!!

The thing is though... His job is based in Wellington, so we are going to have to pack our bags to move again... As I'm currently looking through all the links and websites of rental properties... I actually have no clue what area's in Wellington are 'nice'... I've only heard of one area to avoid, which is Upper Hut? Is this so? Is there anyone out there at the moment who can advise where is best to rent? Bearing in mind that we've got a 9 month old baby boy... We would like to rent so we can explore Wellinton before buying a house...

Any tips are very much welcome!!

Thank you!!

Hafi

Hi Hafi,

Sorry, I have no info on Wellington, but I saw that you're currently in Devonport, which is where we plan to stay. :icon_biggrin:

Can I be a pest an ask some questions.......

What are your first impressions of the area?
Are there any places to avoid in the Devonport/Birkenhead area?
Have you used the ferrys, are they reliable?
I've budgeted for $400 per week rent for a 2 bed house, is that realistic?

Thanks

Hi Hafi,

We've just settled in Wellington and can offer a little advice that we've gained in the last month or so if you like!

How much do you want to spend per week? How many bedrooms? How far away from the CBD? Where do/will you work?

Let me know and I can go from there.....
