Default Kitchens - how much can you expect to pay for a new kitchen?

In preparation for our move we have been looking at the real estate sites to get an idea of our budget and what we can afford. Some properties are lovely except they have really dated kitchens. How much can you expect to pay for a new kitchen and where would you go to look for one?

I guess it would depend on what sort of kitchen cabinets/appliances you wanted to replace the old ones with as, no doubt, costs would vary greatly between an off-the-shelf low-budget kitchen and a bespoke one. The best place to go for either a replacement kitchen or a revamp of the existing one, would be a kitchen supplier/installer such as the below (I have no previous experience of these companies so don't take my post as recommendations)

    Kitchen Express
Pridex Kitchens who have branches all over the place including Chch.
    Ingrid Geldof Design

    or try Googling these.

I'm sure there will be several more kicking about the area as home renovation is pretty popular in NZ. And, of course, you could always visit Bunnings, Mitre 10 and the like to see if they have something you like, as I would think they would have kitchen planners and installers on hand. If you didn't want to do a whole kitchen replacement, you could maybe just update the door fronts if you could find the correct sizing. That would obviously be a lot cheaper way of doing it if the cupboards themselves were still in good condition.

Thanks MB. I did try a google search before I posted but didn't get much come up. Will check these out and hopefully get a rough idea of the range of prices.
