    Default Short term internet access

We are returning to NZ for a couple of weeks and will be staying in our house. However we will not have telephone, internet or TV as these were all cut off when we left. Is there a way of getting short term internet access in NZ? Over here the dongles seem to want you to commit to a contract but we only want 2 weeks worth. Any ideas please?

Hi, I arrived in January and used either internet cafes or places like Blockbuster. I think you can also get a mobile contract with internet usage if that's any good?

We're in a similar position, Nicky. We need Internet access in our NZ house but don't yet know how long we'll be in NZ (waiting for another posting to come up), but we're kind of resigned to having to pay for a whole year (at the cheapest rate). We really need Internet in the house rather than using Internet cafes as we're job hunting and need to keep in close touch with job agents and their websites.

As we will only be in NZ for 2 weeks we will probably stick to the library (Oxford library has free internet for a short period each day). Won't be able to Skype the family but it is only 2 weeks.

If you're getting mobile broadband, best ask for a prepaid mobile broadband USB modem. Dongles will surely get you blank looks

You can find a range of mobile devices here: Mobile Broadband
