    Default frustrating

I love New Zealand, But one thing in Dundin anyway is the great holiday getaway.
Ok its good that that people can go away for a month all at the same time and with a large majority of cafe's in the CBD we have been blitzed over this period.

But, evryone has been closed, all the lawyers and dentists are non existant until next week.
And if like me your wanting to buy a sell a house and a business then your left talking to answer machines or just youself....
But, next week heralds the return of the locals and things will slowly get better...but hey ..only in Dunedin..

    Rant over....

Don't think it's just in Dunedin, Mark. From what I've heard, it's all over NZ. Anything you want doing over that period, forget it.

I haven't been in New Zealand all that long, but don't plan on anything really getting done from about mid-December to at least mid-January. People are on holiday. However, it must be a select group since everyone I know has been working, with only a few days off over Christmas and New Years, at most.
Arrived in Auckland on August 6, 2008.Now live in Kawakawa with my kiwi partner.
I just started working at Bay of Islands Hospital at the beginning of December 2009.
Work permit renewed and good until June 2010
EOI submitted and selected, case manager assigned and ITA received. PR application submitted 28/08/09
approved in principle 26/01/10, PR granted and received 19/03/10

I currently live in New Zealand but one thing you have to realise is that for New Zealand December and January are "holiday" months.
The majority of the population "switches" off from work and nothing much really gets done.
After January things go back to normal.
