Can someone tell me please how long does it take for one to find a IT job in NewZealand and settle down ?
Is this the right time to stay in NewZealanf if one is job hunting in IT/Software?
Or one should come at some other time or come at all if one wants to work in IT field?
All types of feeback welcome , positive or negative?
    Cheers!!

This falls back to the old 'depends where you live' category. There's plenty of jobs in IT around, just check out SEEK or Trademe and that should help make up your mind if there are enough jobs, in your skill set, in areas you would consider living!

There are enough jobs on the Seek , Trademe and other job sites , but the problem is that i am not being short-listed for any of the jobs i have been applying since 4 months now , and trust me i have applied for a heaps of jobs , getting interview for a job has become a distant dream now.
I dont know how or what should i do to change this circumstances , because it is not in my control .

I think you might want to revisit your CV and covering letter.

Do a surf and get some sample CVs etc for NZ jobs ... keep your CV succinct, yet ensure you list your key skills and experience.

Covering letter should be seen as an opportunity to sell yourself. Forget about modesty and write why YOU should be considered for this job.

And remember, you need to tailor both for each and every job application!

    All the best,
    Lou

I was out of work for 5 months and as others have said it is hard and you have to be really luck to get shortlisted and a interview let alone a thanks but no thanks.

I was so frustrated I went to the career services web site and made an appointment to see somebody to help me do things the KIWI way as I could not understand what I was doing wrong.

The lady that helped me was fantastic and really cared about me and made me look at things in a different light and gave me back some self worth.

Give the web site a look may help.

Also in the CV tell them your achievements eg
    saved xyz company $x thousands

and can do anything and are flexible

but definitely keep the cv and the cover letter short as no one wants to read a long cv.

and you have about 5 minutes of there time to convince them why they should hire you maybe less
