Default Three weeks since touch down...

    Good Afternoon folks,

Hope your Easter weekend is going well? Was the Easter bunny good to you?

My first Easter in NZ is going pretty well. In fact over the last couple of weeks, I've really started to settle into life here. Things didn't go quite as planned with my girl and it seems we're just going to be friends for a while and see how things go, in the mean time I'm having a good time. The job hunting is going well, in fact I'm hoping to hear after the Easter break that I have a job. I had a 1st and 2nd interview last week with a company which seemed really keen to hire me, with the added bonus it is an accredited company with the guys in immigration, so I'll have a helping hand with getting a better work visa than my Working Holiday Visa.

I've been helped to settle in by Andy/Lyndsey (Andy being the brother of by good friend Stu back in the UK) and spent Friday and Saturday night getting to know their circle of friends. They are a great bunch of people and really friendly, unfortunate in a way that they were all expats but at this stage I'm glad to make friends with who I can and it's nice to be supported by people have gone through the same transition as I'm going through. In time, especially once I start work I'll make some kiwi buddies for sure.

Right then I'd better get off and go grab a coffee. Feel free to say hi and let me know if you're out and about anywhere which you might think I'd find fun. Catch you soon, keep smiling.

    Paul

Well done, Paul. It sounds like you're starting to settle into your new life really well. Good luck with the job hunting - an accredited employer would be a bonus for you so we'll keep our fingers crossed for some positive news soon.

    Default Good news...

    Hey peeps,

    I've got the job!!!!

Start tomorrow morning on a contract until the end of the year, in the mean time the company will help me with a Work to Residency (is that right) Visa. Now I can start to really enjoy myself as I'll be earning a crust and know that there will be a few extra pennies going into the bank every now and again.

Thank you all for your support, really is appreciated.

    P
