Default UK ex-pat's advice please

If you had a joint income of $200-$250k per annum and savings of around $400-450k to take to NZ, would you feel financially secure?

This is for a couple with no kids yet.

Would you say say you could have a good standard of living on this i.e. still be able to travel back to the UK, have money left over for meals out etc?

thanks

Hi MrsD and welcome.

If you are talking about a NZ income of between $200-$250k per annum, then I would say you would do very well, especially if you are going to use your capital to buy a house, rather than rent or take on a mortgage. Even with housing costs that would still be a darned good income. I think many NZers would dream of having such available funds. Of course, how you spend them would depend on how far your money would go. Living the high life would drain your bank account quickly but, if you tend to live modestly and save up for holidays and treats, you should thrive.

Hi that's great, thanks for the reply.

yeah, that is in NZ Dollars. I know myself we're very fortunate but just started to panic about housing and flights back to UK in an emergency etc.

It's all moving so fast

Thanks again.
