Default Our furniture got delivered today

    It was a great feeling.
Its amazing all the things you forgot you packed.
The delivery boys were really nice and the maf guy was lovely.
We got a fright when we saw that there was 3 adult bikes instead of 2,so we were wondering whats happened.
turns out the removal guys in Glasgow packed my son Andrews bike, which we said wasnt going,it was getting dumped.
We were then dreading the maf guy opening it,but explained to him what happened,we surmised it wouldve been really dirty as obviously we hadnt cleaned it,but the guy said its fine.
The only thing away to get cleaned was our lawn mower. I had cleaned it,but there was still some caked on grass. Still at least thats all.
And the weather has been brilliant here for the past 3 days, its been lovely and warm.
Hard to beleive this is supposed to be winter

I know just what you mean. It's like Christmas when you finally get to open all the boxes. With us having moved several times over the last 10 years we've had a bit of that 'OMG, I'd forgotten we had that' feeling. This last time I didn't bother to unpack all the boxes and they will probably stay packed until we make the trip down to NZ. After all that time it will be an even bigger surprise to see what we've got.

I'm so pleased for you that you're reunited with all your belongings and it all went well for you.

Must be like Xmas all over again Ours will probably arrive around Xmas anyway. Did you have any breakages? Who did you use to move your stuff? Where they good? What about the NZ end? I am a little concerned about the Chch end of the movers.

Cheers Mb,we actually have a good few stored in the shed unopened also,as we havent any room in this house for some of it.
Actually gonna have to stick some of wee Colins toys back out in shed,as he doesnt play with half of them, but he wont part with them either .
    Nicky,we used Britania movers.
The guys at the Glasgow end were really nice, even though they packed Andrews bike, when we were dumping it luckily it was cleanish.
I got a bit of a shock at this end with the moving company, the woman we had i thought was a bit dour faced, and then she said we owed $378 in customs tax.
I emailed Britania, but he sent me copy of papework with my siggy, agreeing to custom tax . oops
So he did explain at time, but youve got that much going on,you sort of forget.
Apart from that no complaints at all.
Actually when we went to see the moving company woman the 2nd time she was really nice.
The guys doing the delivery were lovely, and careful.
    The maf guy was great.
And not one breakage. I even brought a very fine glass vase(was very cheap, but i liked it)Its fine
Even fine wine glasses were ok.
I was concerened about my frost free freezer,as if you tilt them the gas goes into the pipes and knackers them.
But yip its going smashing too.
thats one of my happiest to get,as we had been working with a wee fridge with tiny freezer for ages there, its gonna be good to be able to stock up in frozen foods

I'm glad everything arrived in good shape. Enjoy rediscovering your things!
