wierd thread name, i know but not sure what else to call it...

so i have a question : does anybody know if one is allowed to bring guns or have guns in NZ ?

My OH has inherited some from his dad who just passed away and he wants to keep them for sentimental reasons....

he has 2 x airguns / pellet guns and a (excuse if spelt wrong) a 2.2 rifle...

You can have guns in NZ, although those types don't require any license the hardest part will be getting them on and off the plane through customs!

This might answer some of your questions about importing firearms . IMPORTANT - read the last few lines regarding residency.

Prohibited Imports . Firearms is mentioned about half way down the page. I think it's one of those things that needs permission.
