I think that you have to have been in NZ for 5 years before you can get citizenship - however I am not sure if this 5 years begins from when you enter NZ or when you get PR.

It is 5 years from the day you arrive in NZ as far as I know.

1st August '08...Husband received his passport containing "blue stickers".

Whole process from beginning to approval and blue stickers in passport...3 months and 9 days.

Kiwisue is correct.

You need to have been here 5 years legally in some form or under some permit. It used to be 3 but is now 5. I was here on a work permit then got my residency. That was a fews years ago so things may have changed.
