Friends of ours have got a red V6 Mitshi thingy and they get heaps of 'aggro' from hoons whenever they drive it. Silly stuff like other drivers revving at the lights and racing them off the line. Apparently, the V6 thing means it's a right proper hoons car.....

So glad to hear that you are safely in NZ, and it sounds like you have hit the ground running!! Re car insurance, we bought 2 cars while still on VV's, and had no problem getting insurance - Ken used AA insurers and I insured mine through State. We registered my car (which we bought first) using our friends' address in Wellington, and used their address for the insurance too. By the time we bought Ken's car we were already in our rental property.

Good luck with it all - how's the tiredness settling down?

Maggie xx

For breakdown cover, just join the AA. It's dirt cheap (something like $75 a year for basic or $115 for comprehensive cover) and it's pretty much the only nationwide service - even if it is all done via contractors! AMI are good insurers too, they were pretty much the cheapest but had the lowest excess by far.

We got State for car insurance and AA for breakdown. The insurance quote from AA was ridiculous.

Insurance is easy. It would bebest if you have your NZ drivers license but not required. It is very cheap here. Petrol (Gas) is expensive here so go for the best mileage you can get. It will make up any price difference pretty quick.

If you have any home insurance use he same company you will get the best price. I have mine with AMI. They have been good to pay out with no questions asked. There have been few consumer ratings about insurance companies so that may help[ you as well.

Regards

Cliff
