There aren't as many large department stores here in NZ, so I think she wouldn't find many opportunities to work at a cosmetics counter in NZ.

Don't think I've noticed Clinique here. Defo not in Hamilton, don't know about the bigger cities - although there are only 3!

I've seen Clinique in Farmers in Bayfair, Mt Maunganui.

My mother in law in Wellington just sent me some Trilogy products (Wellington based company). They don't make cosmetics, just skincare, but have to say they are fab...pretty expensive but just as good as Clarins/Lancome, etc. For cosmetics Kirks in Wellington sells MAC...again pricey but good quality.

I have found most UK makes available here.
As for Clinique- they have a counter in the shopping centre in Lower Hutt.
