Default Intermediate School or College

Intermediate School or College
I need a little help with schools and the understanding of which is best for our children
We have a daughter 15 years of age (16 in November 2008), currently in year 10 in the UK, not sure if she needs intermediate school or college
Also son 10 (11 in August 2008), currently in year 6 in UK, not sure if he needs primary or intermediate school in NZ
Plan to be in Wellington mid April 2008 and looking at the suburbs around and schools near job locations. OH starts work mid March in CBD of Wellington
Also is there a school within the Wellington location that offers IGCE?s?

Thanks
D

Do you know where you are thinking of living? This is one of the Intermediate schools
Welcome to the Official Site for Raroa Normal Intermediate School
Onslow collge or Wellington Girls are both popular options for the northern suburbs (Khandallah up).

As you daughter would not have completed her GCSE's she may be better going to intermediate school. As you are arriving in April you may be able to get her into year 10 in NZ as their years start in February. This means that she will finish year 10 in December instead of July in the UK. As the exams they take in NZ are different to UK it would be no bad thing. My son will be finishing year 9 and about to start year 10 when we arrive in September. I am going to see if the school will put him into year 10 the following Feb so that he starts from scratch. The schools do assess each child and it would be worth discussing it with each school to see what their take is on things.

Thanks Nicky
Looks like we will be hopefully going in April. My OH satrts his job mid March, so hopefully he will be albe to do a little research. So far we have selected three areas near Wellington for possable location, all appear to have good schools that fit the childrens needs.
The more infomation and help we have the better so we can prepare list of important questions for the schools

Thanks
Debs
