I too am in christchurch and finding the same problem, i talk to people on the phone and they are very keen to meet me, then once i send my cv i dont hear back from them - i still have a south african accent but then we all my work experience is from the UK i dont hear back. I have owned 2 businesses in the UK and could offer so much to companies in NZ,

I found aucklanders to be very willing to hire me unlike christchurch people, however we thought it would be nicer to live in christchurch if only i had realised this before moving down here.
