It would be very interesting to hear how things have been going for you Mark, although we did get a taste of your staffing problems a few months ago. Hope the matter has settled down now and things are a bit easier for you.

Default Interesting insight

yes mb

We have had ups and downs and its different from the Uk with our own views on life and people in NZ.
Plus, our quick entry via LTBV or Entrepeur catagory which is a might confusing.
But, I would like to give a fair balance.

The good news is we do love it here and dont regret the move at all..
so give us a few more days to sit and write a fews notes..

Thumbs up Love this thread

Although I have been a member for a wee while I have only just come across this thread and really enjoyed reading it
The OH and I visited Auckland in August for job interviews and yes.........I bought some fleece PJ's whilst I was there...........!
The comments re kids has really spurned me on and reminded me so much of the real reason why we want to move to NZ............. I know the wait will be worthwhile in the end!!

my two penny worth,

nearly 20 months now since we arrived, and I'd agree entirely with Nick and Jacky's list.. particularly the kids freedom thing and the central heating one..

There were days in the winter just gone when I was wearing every jumper I own..
and it's a bit depressing when you step outside and realise its actually warmer outside than in the house..

having said that though, when you can scrape the "frost" off your windscreen with your finger nails , you know you're not living in scotland anymore..

and the hot spring/summer weather more than makes up for a few cooler weeks..

Default Hamilton

Hi there, im currently still in South Africa my wife has family in hamilton, her sister is a teacher and they are generally happy there. They had some issues in the beginning to adjust , but have been there for 6 years now and have no intention of ever returning to sa.

My wife and I are also looking to join our family in nz, but we are still deciding.
Its not an easy decision to make

Anyway have fun

Nico
