Default Summer in nelson

Just a quick post to let you know that we are alive and well and enjoying the nelson summer to its fullest.

Weather a constant 23-27 degrees, saw a few clouds on sunday.

Kids are enjoying the beaches, snorkelling with seals in the Abel Tasman. I havent worn "long trousers" since mid december. Very fetching tan line around the knee.

Just gonna gloat and post a couple of photos,

Jacky on the boat last sunday in the Abel Tasman.

Olivia with a "small cray fish" we dived for at Okiwi bay. Note the 4-burner BBQ (anything less than a 4-burner is a man-size issue!)

Olivia & me after the cray fish and a bloody good bottle of Sav.

Got round the pool sorted, fantastic after work to cool down.

Aahhhhhhh, fantastic

Hmmph! ?Some people know how to hit where it hurts. ? ;)

Still suffering down in sunny Nelson I see, Nick. ?Sounds idyllic and will give a few peeps cause to drool and ponder on good times to come. ?Lovely to see all your pics which bring your post alive. ?

You all look so healthy - can that possibly be good for you? ? ?;D And you got the boat then?

Hey, I often think about you guys and was wondering how you were doing! And man, you look like you're doing great! How well do you all look and I'm not just talking physically, there's some inner something or other shining through there I have to say. Fantastic guys, I am so chuffed for you.

I have to say, we really fancy Nelson as a place to check out but I'm not sure there'd be much work for me. I'll have to do some more homework. Our other option is to buy a business already established there, we fancy a nice bistro/coffee shop as Gaz is a fantastic cook or we could buy into something with horses maybe - there are some trekking places round there aren't there? This is my dream though, not sure how the rest of the family feel about it! But with Macfod posting about his buying a business on a VV it's made us feel like anything's possible!

Are you up for some visitors around July Nick, Jacky? Your girls can take my boy snorkelling with those seals - he'd love it!! And I've just sold those books on that I bought from you, so someone else is getting the benefit now! Keep these posts coming and keep doing whatever it is you're doing - it all seems to fit you very well! ;) :)

How fantastic, I haven't seen any of your posts before. I must say I am sat here with the heating on full and still battling with immigration, I am jealous and envious but very happy for you.
I can see my goal fo rme and my daughter.
Your posts and pics keep us going, when we get disheartened.
Good luck.

Dawn

By all means, the kettle is always on.....or there's always a bottle or two of sav blanc in the fridge.

July isnt the best time for seal swimming - a tad cold - but the seals will still be about and the dolphins should be near by too. Apparently winters here in Nelson are very settled with lots of sun shine - and quite warm during the day.

There are currently a few cafe / bars for sale - Chateau Rhubarbe in Wakefield was sold recently in Wakefield and a UK couple now run the beach cafe on Tahuna beach. So there are good options for buying a going concern here.

Cheers

Nick

Thanks for that Nick. ;) We are red wine drinkers though, although of course the temperate climate may lend itself more to a crisp white, I'm sure we can be persuaded. ;D

Hey Nick,

Let's see some pics of the MG sitting next to the barbie, with the boat in the background.. now THAT would make a lot of people v v jealous..

Would I be right in saying that's a Valenica barbie..
Looks like it's the same as my one..

Only thing I have trouble with is getting the kebabs on in the right position so you don't singe your fingers trying to turn them..

"Sounds like you might be wishing you were back in Cumbria" ?
Yeah Right!
