Collating all our information

Hi,

We seem to have a lot of information on things to do in certain towns and cities in here dotted about.

Should we collate all this information into the area list that is accessible from the front page of the site?

It means it would be easier to find all the information on say Wellington, Hamilton & Rotorua...

Good idea. If allowed and informed of how, I might have a bit of time now and again to cull the forum for info, and add it to the area guide.

There's a link to the Homepage at the top right hand site of the main menu. ?It is a very well kept secret as you wouldn't necessarily know where that link took you. ?I only found it by being my usual nosey self, wanting to know the ins and outs of everything ? ::) ?:-[ . ?

That particular item doesn't appear to have the facility to add to it so that's out unless Taffy can modify it in some way. ?I suspect it was added to the Homepage as a package from somewhere else and, as such, can't be modified. ?

James did start a thread about places of interest which could have been added to although the thread title did mention Wellington rather than the whole of NZ. ?If I was to delete the word 'Wellington' and leave it blank, we could use that as a collection point for useful info on locations and things to do. ?

I could then try to shift some of the other threads over there if they are purely about places and activities. Could also make it a sticky so it stays in focus.

I originally developed that area guide way back when the site was newlifeabroad.com. It was made using different technology (ASP instead of PHP) and I never got round to redeveloping it for the new platform.

People used to be able to submit information to it, but as there were so few people on the site back then I didnt think it was worth rebuilding. All the data on there was from the 2001 census too, so is a little out of date now!

I think it will be a valuable addition to the site, so I'll get it restored to its former submittable glory.

Cool thanks Taffy I think it would be a great thing to have and we can move all the threads across to it. Easier to find information on certain places.
