Email accounts

Hi,

Does anyone know an email account that is reasonably reliable?

I'm with xtra and msnhotmail and float between the two. ?Some xtra emails seems to disappear into cyberspace, and with hotmail my emails seem to go out OK but folks say I am not replying to emails they have sent there (I do check spam regularly). ?

I've checked on discussion boards and it seems to be a problem which keeps reoccurring, and I know most sites are having problems with the sheer amount of spam floating about.

Is causing a few problems with rellies in the UK. Any ideas? ? :-/

Will give gmail a go ... bit more complicated than the usual, though. No smilies either. Particularly like the idea of it saving posts automatically at intervals as you are writing ... hopefully, those long boring emails I send will now get to their destinations!

Oh darn. ?Now US intelligence will know all about my subversive activities. ? [smiley=070.gif] I have not even noticed the google ads yet, but looking back ... yes, there it is "how to make a bomb in 30mins".

If they want to keep my emails for ever more, well good luck to them and happy reading. ? ?:D

Must admit after reading about 'creepy gmail', I think I will send and receive the important and confidential emails - like bank-related ones - elsewhere. ? :-/

Law to tackle unwanted spam passed

The Government's anti-spam bill was passed last night with a promise it would help stem the avalanche of unwanted e-mails clogging New Zealand in-boxes.

Communications Minister David Cunliffe said when he introduced the Unsolicited Electronic Messages bill, spam made up to 80 per cent of e-mail traffic worldwide.

Mr Cunliffe said last night the law would contribute to an international crackdown on spam and prevent New Zealand becoming a haven for spammers.

The bill bans unsolicited electronic messages and requires senders of commercial messages to include accurate sender information and allow recipients to unsubscribe.

It also bans porn spam, which provides links to websites.
