Default Christmas Holidays whe you're working
Hello,

Just to let folks know that most big offices in NZ close for 2-3 weeks over the Christmas and New Year time.

I just thought it was Council offices that did that but lots of other organisations do it as well. So anyone coming across and looking for office work over the next month may find they get a job but finish up on Dec 22nd for a few weeks.

Unfortunately I have to use some of my annual leave which is a bummer as my contract is only for 6 months so I only have 7 1/2 days holiday. But at least I get paid for those holidays. Poor Stu has his contract terminated on the 22nd and renewed in the New Year when they reopen.

Especially when I'm told the construction of my house will be left for three to four weeks (that's over $2,700 in interest payment I will lose). :(
