Default Re: Who moved to NZ and hated it?

Hi Stacey,

If you have a look through this category there are some details about food shopping and maybe a few other things. Other than that either post a specific query on here and someone will answer it or do a search (at the top) putting in words like 'electricity', 'cable' or whatever. *It should bring up any previous posts about those subjects. *Rent is a difficult one to pin down as it depends on what you're looking for and in which area. *Living in or near a city will cost more than out in the countryside. *There's a list of estate agents on the NZ Website List in the Making the Move category. *It's under Real Estate (titles are in alphabetical order). *There's a section for rentals. *If you know which area you want to live in you can research what's available and for how much. *It'll give you some idea of prices.

If you go to NZ with a Work Permit or Permanent Residency you will be entitled to medical care at the same cost as the kiwis. *Doctor's visit must be paid for and vary from surgery to surgery and can go up to NZ$55-50. *You can read about charges on this previous thread.

Sorry can't help about the salary you can expect to get. I take it the sum you quoted is in Canadian $? Salaries aren't that great in NZ. If you can find some suitable job agents' sites (also to be found on the Website List) you could try searching for a similar job to see if they quote a possible figure, but I've heard a lot of agents don't like to put up what the salaries will be. Not very helpful, I'm afraid.
