    Default Life in NZ!

    Welcome to the new section!

As everything on this forum was pretty much tailored to the event of coming over, this new section has been dedicated to the people who are in NZ already, or want to know 'life' things about NZ.

Questions such as 'Does anyone know a good hairdresser in Taupo?' or 'Does anyone know where I can buy a nice boat?' will be right at home here ::)

Just thought I'd pop in and have a look around. ?Looks good. ?
Doesn't just have to be questions about life in NZ. ?Could also include:

Recipes and uses for all those lemons/kiwi fruit/mandarins you've got dangling from your trees and bushes. ?
Ideas and recommendations for trips out. ?
    Places to avoid. ?
Favourite restaurants in your area. ?
Which shops have good sales on and which is the cheapest place to go for ..........? ?
Let's have lots of area info that can be shared with others who live in the vicinity. ?
    Info on schools and colleges.
    Cheapest prices.
    Child-friendly places.
    Decent hotels/campsites for touring NZ.?
Where can I go to get .......? ?
How much does it cost to........?
Do they have ....... in my area or, in fact, in NZ?
There's a job going in my company for ..... ?Anyone interested?
Is roast kiwi good to eat?
Is it OK to have hairy legs in NZ?

The list is endless so c'mon people. Share! ?

    Roast Kiwi???? [smiley=Astonished.gif] :o

Hmmm, nobody has said anything to me about my hairy legs [smiley=102.gif] - though I might offend a few people, turning up to the beach looking like a yeti ;)

    Any other weird questions??

Anyway, this topic was 'life in NZ' right - it's GREAT!!

Those were just sample questions to give people an idea of the sort of things they can use this category for. I don't really have any latent desire to munch my way through a cute little kiwi [smiley=Na!.gif]. They're much nicer running around all warm and feathery. As for hairy legs, considering the laid back kiwi attitude to a lot of things including their personal 'hygiene' and apparel, it's a valid question. You could save a fortune on razors.

I'm hoping this new category will help to draw in NZ members who don't now think they have anything particularly valid left to contribute to the forum. This is where you can shine with either questions, information or suggestions.

    as far as recipes go..

anyone coming to new zealand MUST MUST MUST buy an Edmonds Cookbook..

you can get them in New World (supermarket) Paper Plus/ Books and More..

its brilliant.. The Kumara Soup is to die for..
The Shepherds Pie (it's a Cottage Pie really) is lovely too..

If your ever head to or are in Napier..
head to Breakers for a good family restaurant..
quick service, affordable.. and decent grub..

    places to avoid.. Britain..
good places to go.. New Zealand..

    hope this helps..
