Default Driving without due care & attention

    HI ALL

IN 2006 MY PARTNER WAS CONVICTED OF DRIVING WITHOUT DUE CARE & ATTENTION & FAILING TO REPORT
SHE RECEIVED A FINE & SOME POINTS
I DID NOT DISCLOSE THIS AS IT IS NOT COVERED BY Q I12 IN THE EOI/ITA
ie HAS YOUR PARTNER BEEN CONVICTED OF AN OFFENCE (INCLUDING A TRAFFIC OFFFENCE) COMMITTED WITHIN THE LAST 5 YEARS INVOLVING DANGEROUS DRIVING....ETC
HOWEVER Q. I11 ASKS FOR ANY CONVICTION OF ANY OFFENCE AGAINST THE LAW
WOULD IT BE WISE TO CLAIM SAID OFFENCE HERE
THERE IS NO POINT IN JUST IGNORING IT AS IT APPEARS ON HER POLICE REPORT

    YOUR THOUGHTS ARE APPRECIATED

    FRANCIS

    EOI SUBMITTED 25.08.09
    EOI SELECTED 26.08.09
    ITA RECEIVED 10.09.09
    MEDICALS 24.11.09
2 EXTENSIONS TO SUBMISSION DATE RECEIVED DUE TO IMCOMPETENCE OF NHS IN SUPPLYING CONSULTANT REPORT
    MEDICAL REPORTS FINALLY DUE 16.02.10

    Hi Francis,

To be on the safe side, I think I would declare it. Driving without due care and attention is not the same as dangerous driving (speaking as someone who used to work in a magistrates' court ) and I very much doubt there would be any repercussions from telling INZ about it. As you say, it will appear on her police report anyway and, at least, it shows you are being open about it. Don't worry though, dangerous driving is quite a serious offence, but someone driving without due care is almost a daily occurrence.
