    Default do not meet the minimum standard of English

    What happen if I do not meet the minimum standard of English. Or have an IELTS certificate with an overall band score of less than 6.5

    My status is:
    EOI Selected - 7th Jun, 2009
    Application Status:
    ITA Lodgement Date 7th Oct, 2009
    Decision : Pending
    Health Certificate Details :
    Certificate Type: Full Medical
    Status: Received
    Date Received: 6 Jan 2010
    Anybody can help me to know what the next stages are. , and what is the worst possibilities that can happen?

    I doubt you would be accepted and INZ would probably ask that you take English lessons to raise your level of English.

    This tells you about the IELTS.

    What if I get Pre-purchasing ESOL tuition? and get English language courses soon after I arrived to New Zealand ?

    On here it says...

    SM5.5 Minimum standard of English language for principal applicants

    1. Applications under the Skilled Migrant Category must be declined if the principal applicant has not met the minimum standard of English.


    I think the option to buy pre-paid tuition is available to family members but I don't think it applies to principal applicants.

    Why can't you prepare and re-take the IELTS exam ?
