Default ITA dependency on Points claimed

    Hi All!
Is there any dependency on points claimed when processing ITA?
Does more points translate to faster ITA processing?

    Any views appreciated.

Up to 139 points it doesn't matter that much, but, once you have 140 points or more, you are automatically selected if everything else in your application checks out e.g. medical, police certificate etc.. Generally, INZ seems to take those with most points first and then works down to those with fewer points. The less points you have, the longer it takes to process your application unless you have a job offer which might speed things up a little.

Default 140 Points, No Job Offer

    Hi Everyone,

We've submitted our ITA on the 9th of December, 2009. We have 140 points and no job offer. We've been looking at applying for jobs so that hopefully we can have something set up for when we get to NZ.

Most recruitment agencies and potential employers, want to know how soon we will be able to move to NZ permanently.
Can anyone tell us, approximately of course, by when our application may be processed? Assuming there are no glitches and we have supplied all the docs.
I realize that I only get a vague answer as processing times vary from branch to branch etc. I submitted my application to the Shanghai Branch. According to the INZ site, we will be assigned a CO within 6 months and then processing may take 12-18months. But most of you, through your experiences and such, may have better idea of the time taken.

    All estimates are welcome!
    Thanks,
    Tamtra.

ps.Wouldn't it be wonderful if this site could include a page where all the users could add their statistics so that others can browse and get an idea of timelines? Just a suggestion. :) OR does this exist already and I've not noticed it? :s

We did have this at one time. It wasn't a specific page, just that members were requested to put their timelines in their signature box and it was very useful. Perhaps this gentle reminder might encourage folks to do it again.

    Done! :)

Do you by any chance have any info on the timelines? Other than what's on the site of course.

    Thanks,
    Tamtra.

    Hi MB,

    Guess what I found!
Immigration Application Timings - New Zealand

They allow everyone to maintain a chart of sorts so that we can have an idea about timelines! I'm hoping people with PR will see this post and update the table. It would be so useful to those of us who are waiting(and waiting...!)

    Thanks,
    Tamtra

    Hi Francis,

I didn't analyze it like that, but I guess you're right.

Either way, your processing should happen a lot faster than ours as you have a job offer. Are you already in NZ?
We've gotten poor feedback about securing a job from offshore. :(

Good luck, hope things work out soon for you.

    Default Job

    HI TAMTRA

I was lucky enough to arrange an informal meeting with my prospective employers whilst on holiday last year

They then offered me a position after a telephone interview when I got home

All being well we shall be off to Napier in April

It is much better if you can visit NZ to tout yourself

    Good Luck
