    Default Blood tests for medical

Anyone know if its acceptable to have your bloods done independantly and take the results along to your official medical?
I guess its unlikely to be allowed but just wondering as I can easily get the appropriate bloods taken by someone at work (Im a midwife) and I'd get them done for free.

As the medicals have to be done by a panel doctor authorised by INZ for immigration medicals, and the blood tests are part of that medical, I would assume that you would have to have the bloods done by the panel doctor, unfortunately .

Thanks to francis1962 I just came across the Handbook for Medical Examiners, which says in "Completing Section E"

The medical examiner is to select and recommend suitably accredited laboratories to perform the tests required by Immigration New Zealand.

So, since the doc just refers to a lab, I'd just ask the former.

Except in NZ, where every certified practitioner can do the examination. So, if Lisamct is in NZ, it should be possible.

    HTH,

Quite correct Till but, unfortunately, if I remember rightly, Lisa is in the UK.

Ah well, it was worth asking I suppose, just seemed a shame when Im taking blood and around others taking blood most days that I couldn't just get mine done at the same time.
