Default How fussy are INZ about translations?

    Hey everyone,

The ubiquitous Operational Manual requests in R2.55.1

    c. Translations must: [...]
ii be prepared and certified by a recognised private or official translation service, [...]
I was wondering, what they mean by "recognised". Recognised by whom? Is there a list of approved services?

Can anyone tell about dealing with or problems concerning translations?

    Cheers,
    Till

They have to be registered/certified translators and I think they would have to stamp your documents as such. If you have a business telephone book you could look it up in there and it should say if they are registered. What INZ don't want is that your brother/friend's friend/the guy down the street etc. translate it for you. It has to be done by an official translator and I would hope, because of this, there shouldn't be a problem. They should have proper premises like any other business.

Alright, the translation is stamped, and the translator is registered and sworn, and I've got a bill, so everything should be fine.

Just wanted to hear if someone ever had difficulties regarding acceptance of translations...

I'm from Germany, and boy, authorities can be squeamish, I can tell you
