    Default Looong Wait

    Hi All,

Just a bit of update on my application status:

Applied for the Residence Visa under the skilled migrant category without any job offers in Feb. My application is selected as of 17th Feb. I got a letter from the New Delhi branch stating that my application will not be considered for review until atleast 6 months from the date of application. Only then a case officer would be assigned for my application.

Also the New Delhi branch has increased the processing time frame:
    Processing timeframes

Until then its just the waiting game...

Oooh, that seems a long time. Good luck with your application .

    Hi Srivatsa,
What stage are you at the EOI stage or the ITA. Yes it is really frustrating that the New Delhi branch has increased their waiting periods. My ITA was transferred to Singapore from New Delhi in April 2008 and a case officer was assigned. In November we received a letter from Singapore to say that our papers were being transferred once again to New Delhi as there was shortage of staff at Singapore and New Delhi will look at the application only in April once a case officer has been assigned. Just keeping our fingers crossed that things work out for us sometime this year.

I am in the ITA stage. New Delhi timeframes changed after I got the letter from them. My waiting period is 6 months.
I guess for any new applications it is 12 months of waiting period before a case officer is assigned.
