Default C7 - Condition requiring treatment - What about contact lenses?

I am a US citizen applying for PR in the Skilled Migrant Category.

    Question C7 says:
Do you have any condition that is likely to require ongoing treatment or medication?
For my EOI I selected "No".

However, I just thought of something: I wear contact lenses. Specifically, I wear disposable contacts. So every few months I order another box from my optometrist.

Do I need to mention the contacts for question C7?

    Thanks!

    T

I would doubt that ordering another box of contacts from your optometrist qualifies as medical treatment or medication in the eyes of INZ but you could mention it if you want, just to cover yourself. They are specifically looking for those folks who are likely to be a financial worry to the NZ Health Service.

I also have glasses, so I guess I am not actually required to buy contacts every year, and therefore don't really require medical treatment.

I do, however, require toothpaste and regular dental cleanings! So do we all...

So I guess there's a dollar amount that NZ has in mind in terms of being a burden. Contacts and dental cleanings are in the same monetary ballpark, so if we ignore one, we can ignore the other, correct?

I think the maximum figure they run to for medical expenses is around NZ$24,000 sooooo......

I called NZ immigration on the phone and was told that contact lenses don't need to be reported, because vision correction is not considered an uncommon (or expensive) medical condition.

So the answer is: we don't need to mention contacts for question C7.
