NZIS interviews

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me about the NZIS interviews for SMC applicants . I am working as "Software/IT consultant" with 6 years exp (AND with 1 year work ex in NZ for accredited employer) . and my OH is a Postgraduate in Chemistry with no work experience. and both of us have recog qualifiction , but we don't have any NZ job offer in hand .
I want to know the following things about NZIS interviews in particular.

1.) What is the purpose of the interview ?
2.) What are the questions asked in the interviews?
3.)What are the outcomes/results of these interviews?
4.) With description our work/educational profiles above, Am i eligible to qualify these interviews ?
Mama bear with your vast experience and knowledge , please throw some light on my above queries, others who have already undergone the interview process , please give ur valuable suggestions. Thanks in advance to all.

Hi I too submitted in Oct 2007 and still waiting for feedback from INZ. Is the waiting this long?

Not to worry you, but we submitted our ITA in Nov 2007, got allocated a case officer approx March 2008, and had our PRs May 2008.

Are you both in the UK? As different offices have different timescales?

As for the NZIS interviews, it's really for them to get a taste of whether you'd fit in;
What research you've done, how you intend to find employment, friends etc,
Will you have family or friends already over there. Do you intend to biu property / rent. How you intend to integrate.

There is a sticky somewhere I believe of typical questions.

Hope that helps - and I think perhaps you should be nudging NZIS as you have both been waiting ages!! (But then, I am impatient!!)

Our case is now with NZIS singapore, We are in India, our application was submitted at NZIS New Delhi.

I had already worked in NZ for an accredited employer for 1 year , so i have made friends there at work , and know people outside work as well. I too know quite a number of placements agents whom i met during my stay there, and i am in touch with them
( but still they want me to be physically present in NZ to attend interviews and get a job offer) .

But it has really been a long wait for us , I too am getting impatient now
