    Question Question about Residency Statistics

I was just looking at the 8/13/08 report on residency applications, declines, and acceptances. In the skilled/business, category, there were 6788 applications and only 101 declines. That looks GREAT! However, there were only 1403 residence approvals. Declines and approvals only add up 1504 -- what happened to the other 5284 applications? Were they declined for residency but got work to residence?

I am waiting to hear on my residency application ... I'm quite nervous and really want residency since I don't want to have to go through the whole process again! But if the numbers above are accurate, only 20% of people were approved for residency.

Thanks for any insight you can give.

A certain number will surely have been awarded a WTR and some applications may still be in the pipeline. Some may also possibly have been withdrawn by the applicant for various reasons. This is just a guess - the other alternative is that statisticians can't do their sums .

Default ITA go to PR or WTR?

    Hi Mountainlake and hi MotherBear

Since I'm waiting on my ITA decision, this is very good question Mountainlake.
That is annual report I gees? If it is, that is so irresponsible from NZIS or INZ offices for statistic.

Where did you see that info? Please I would like to check my self.

I'm sure there is more applicants waiting to somebody who basically play with there destiny. We pay big money to complete all papers also spend our time to collect them and on the top pay application fees.
Perhaps UK applicant can make easy 2000 euro, but applicant who comes from Macedonia or in that region, it's very hard (impossible) to make for living and safe that amount of saving.

Please MotherBear you can do better than that answer.

    Best regards
    PepiZ

I can't answer for the statisticians, Pepiz. As I said above, it was only a suggestion, a guess.

The disparity in the number are those applications that are in process. Neither declined nor approved.

Do You mean the others which are in process, some are given Work to Residence Visas, or some are declined, the in what ratio

Are the success WTRs later converted to Residency.

Please throw some light on the ignorant minds.

I think the problem is, no one knows.

My guess is that the rest of the applications are still in process. MB, that explanation makes a lot of sense.
