Question Application process

Hi

I submitted my EOI on 12 July, 2008 and it has selected on 16 July, 2008 :))
It seems that assessment of the selected EOIs without job offer takes about 3-4 months!!! :(

Is it a good idea to start preparing required documentations for Application lodgment (i.e Medical documents and police certificate etc.) from now to save time when my ITA is issued? If YES, please let me know which documents could be prepared during this waiting time?

Best wishes
Farzad :-)

You should be fine to get your police certificate as they are valid for 12 months but your medicals will only be valid for 3 months so you have to be carefull that they don't expire before you get your application in- you wouldn't want to pay out for them again.

If you need any quals t be assessed you can get that done too.

Has something changed? The police certificates are usually valid for 6 months.

From immigration website:

Police certificates must be less than six months old at the time you lodge your residence application.

I stand corrected. I could have sworn they were valid for 12, best hope we get our ITA pretty quickly then before ours run out.

Default HI

No. Dont start the process of getting medicals and Police certificate.
You can get the Letters from your old employer Reference Letter. But i feel getting MEdicals and Police Certificate is waste as its valid for 3 and 6 months only.

Also if you have not taken IELTS better you take it as its valid for 2 years and its compulsary eventhough you studied in English medium.

Is it true that you have to take an IELTS? I come from a country where English is an official language, and I studied in English. All my ITA requires is that I submit proof of studying in English, they didn't mention an IELTS at all. I hope that isn't the case, or else I'd better start with that
