Default another "Approved in principle"!

Just to let you know, we had an email on Friday, and the letter on Saturday to say we have been approved in principle.

It has no mention of a work-to-residency, so do we assume that we have been granted "Permanent Residency"?

Doesn't feel real yet ...

Lou

AIP usually means you've been granted full residency. It would say on the letter if you were being offered WTR. Just down to the final check by the department head and you're done

Great news Lou. Join the club. I haven't got a letter but I did email my CO who said they would not normally send a letter if I had agreed for them to put the visa on our passports at the same time. They still have them from when I submitted our ITA.

Just to help - I have just checked the website and it states that my application has now been APPROVED and that the visa expires 12th May 2009. It also says I have the condition of having to take up work within 3 months etc... At least it is in black & white now. The ITA was lodged with them on 28th April so that is 2 weeks from then. Hope this gives you an idea of the timescale.

thanks everyone ...

Just got to send our passports back now ... have tried emailing our case officer, but no reply from her yet, so I'll ask here.

Do we send the passports addressed to case officer? OR just to Immigration Dept, NZ House?

Send 'em to your case officer, as they are the ones who will issue the visas
