Hi Damy and welcome to the forum.

INZ can take quite a long time to reply and this will be especially so because they have just returned after their Christmas and New Year holiday. It can depend on how busy the branch is that you're dealing with and also how many points you are applying with. Often the more points you have the quicker your application is processed.

Damy if you have a job offer confirmed they will put it to the top of the pile and they can have it done within 3 months, if you do have an offer make sure they have a copy of the letter as it will speed things up, contact a case officer if you have one.

Default Thanks ...

Thanks Mother Bear for the warm welcom :) and thanks alan &...

I actually had a job offer earlier in 2005-2006 in NZ and i have worked there for a big IT
company , but had to come back to india for some family reasons and for my wedding .
Hence i dont have that job offer anymore but i have the proof of my work exp in NZ
which i have send to NZIS alongwith my ITA application .
My wife is also Post-graduation qualified as a Biotechnologist
( which is a skill on demandin NZ) , which makes our points to 200.
But since 22/Nov/2007, i had lodged my ITA at India branch , i haven't heard much except a letter saying that minimum time to start processing will be 3 months because of the work load for MSC application processing.
Also i am being contacted by the prospective Nz employers , who do send me the mails saying that
I would need a PR first , then i can get an offer. I am still awaiting my PR processing.

anyone here having any idea that how long it takes for the complete ITA processing?
any advice would be appreciated.

Warm regards,
Damy

Hiya Damy,

I think we are in a similar situation - our ITA was submitted 26th Nov 2007, with no job offer.

According to their website, London branch it will take approx 3 months to be allocated a case officer, and then another 1-3 months before they make a decision and hopefully we have our VISAs.

All the best, and don't forget to keep us posted on your progress,

Lou

We waited about 3 months until we were told they wanted to interview us. After some things finally got straightened out, it didn't seem to take long to get approval.

Hello Selchie, thnks for the info,
Just a quick question to the forum members , Is it mandatory to have a job offer to get a PR. Because i had a job offer earlier as an IT manager in 2005/2006 when i had worked in NZ but could not continue to to some presonal reasons . But now i m keen to move to nz so was pondering that whether a job offfer is mandatory or not , otherwise i think i satisfy all the condtions under the SMC . Let me know if you have any info. on this.

Regards,
Damy

Hi

You don't need a job offer to apply for PR as long as you have the points to qualify- this usually means a degree to bump up hte points.

If you are similar to my OH (also IT management) who is self taught and has very few quals you will more than likley need a job offer to get the qualifying points.
