Medicals expiry?

Can someone clear this up please?

We have submitted our ITA pack, however with no job offer have been told that immigration won't even look at it for 3-4 months. In which time, our medicals will have expired (valid for 3 months?) .... can they request that we get them re-done? I think not, but Jon seems to think they will ....

I always understood that, once you'd submitted your medicals, the clock stopped counting down, presumably because it was now in the hands of INZ and any holdups would be down to them.

I'll have to dig around to make sure they've not moved the goalposts as they seem to be revamping at the moment and God only knows what they've rejigged now.

Oh, very helpful. What I found was:

A) All medical and chest X-ray certificates must be less than 3 months old at the date the application for residence is made.

B) Visa and immigration officers may require a further medical and X-ray certificate as a basis for determining an application for residence, if there is good reason to do so.

Just what do they call 'good reason to do so'?

Well, only half an answer in reality.

The packing is going well, Lou, but we won't be moving until mid Jan. when we hope our new place will be finished. It's not good hunting through boxes muttering 'Now where the hell did I pack that?'

We had our medicals in July of 2005, and finally got residence in Sept 2007. I was worried about NZIS wanting another set of medicals, but they didn't. We only had trouble because I stupidly mentioned a surgery as a reason for delaying our interview. That put them on red alert for over a year until we could get a letter from the surgeon with the magic words they were looking for. DO NOT mention any medical conditions that crop up after submitting your application - or at least beware!
