Hiya Luis,

Am also mightily unimpressed with NZQA .. can't believe they charge so much for so little.

I paid for the fast track service, and like you, they were prompt to charge my credit card but have not received my email to say it has all safely arrived.

I emailed them to request confimation of receipt, and nowt.

Only via my credit card do I know they got it on 26th October .. so by my reckoning, only another 5 days and I hope they will be sending my stuff back home to me.

Lou

Same story here. Took money immediately, didn't notify me until I mailed them and now I am waiting for an underling to decide whether or not she can accept an email from my old uni, or if they need a hard copy......Anyone who is thinking of NZQAing it do it well in advance as this organisation covers itself by saying that they are not responsible for any delays.

Fast Track: Bah, Humbug

Hi all... as for my personal experience, I believe that NZQA must be very very very busy at the moment. It was april 2006 when I first applied for Recognition of International Qualification, then may when I received first mail from my evaluator, then july they required more documents, and today (you know the date... RIGHT!) I am still waiting for an evaluation... seems to me that's a very bad moment for them. Anyway, I have no other application on, as I will go just for a work permit then for PR, so timing wasn't my first problem. Finally, I'll leave for Auckland on April 2008, and if my evaluation will not be issued, then I'll go to get it personally at theyr office.

Good luck to all of you

Gio

Hello

As I understand it, NZ needs skilled people. Usually, though not necessarily, skilled people have degrees, which need to be assessed. This should be a good thing for NZ -- highly educated people with degrees moving there. But when that assessment takes considerably longer than the time you have to lodge your visa applications, what is the point? Just creates frustration and unrealistic expectations.

However, it seems that NZIS is realising this problem. I contacted NZIS about my situation and the reply was:

However, just this week policy has changed resulting in the possibility that you may now not require the NZQA Assessment. However in order for this to be determined we would require a copy of your qualification transcript. Our Skilled Migrant Manager can then review your transcript and determine if you still require the NZQA Assessment.

I did as asked, but unfortunately I still need an NZAQ full assessment... The good news is that they gave me an extension of 2 months to lodge my application!

In any case, maybe this change in the policy may be of interest to other people.

Cheers,
Luis

NZQA assessment has come back ... and without any correspondance or owt.

so ... fast track to and fro the UK took 4wks, 3 days.

On first glance, it has come back as a level 7, but no mention of what my degree majors in .. (hubby is at home and just had a quick glance through it all) ... paid for a full assessment so guessing this should keep immigration happy?
