Can you work in OZ with a NZ PR?

Just looking for some help...

I've had a wee search on 'Australia' on the search engine and got mainly newspaper articles out of it so I dont think my answer is in the forum as yet.

I also squizzed around NZ Immi site and that didnt answer any questions either.

So onto my question...if you have NZ PR can you flit off to OZ and work & live there for a few months/years?

A girl in works partner has NZ PR and she seems to think they can up and leave and move to Oz if they want (she's an aussie) as he is classed as being a Kiwi but I thought you could only do that if you were a citzin? Does anyone know for sure?

I think the magic word would be 'citizen'. ?There was a time when, if you held NZ citizenship, you could just walk into Oz and set up home. ?Now it's different and you have to apply for Oz PR in order to stay. ?Having said this, you can imagine that if citizens have to do their bit to stay in Oz, PR holders aren't going to come out of it too well.

From the Oz immigration site:

Seems to talk purely about NZ citizens working and living in OZ, no mention of residents.

This tells you what happens if you?re a NZ citizen and want to apply for PR in Oz. ?

Still only talks about NZ citizens .

Yip I think we can safely say you have to be a citizen in this case.
