hi everyone:

after more than 9 months and many papers i phoned one more time immigration about my residence under skill migrant, at this stage they told me that all the job that immigration have to do is DONE, now the immigrant officer is sending all my file to another authority who is gonna decide if i will be granted the residence or not.
for me sound strange becasuse i didnot know about another deparment than immigration who decide about the residence, is anybody here who passed the same situation than me?? if YES how long did this procces take??

[smiley=Welcome.gif] to the forum, Kolinir.

Yes, it does seem a bit strange that your file has been sent 'somewhere else'. It doesn't say here that this is what happens. Are you sure that your file hasn't just been sent to another department within NZIS for the final answer to be given? That would be understandable as what probably happens is that certain departments deal with collecting all the information on your case and then, when they have it all together, they send it to a different department for someone higher up to grant permission for residency. I haven't heard anyone else mention this.

Good luck with the decision, anyway. Hope it won't be long before you have your blue residency stickers in your passport.

Congrats Kolinir.

Just for others' reference... Our case officer told us that an associate would review our file and either agree or disagree with her recommendation. It's just a bit of quality control, I suppose, to be sure the CO didn't miss something. It typically takes a week or two, according to our CO.
