is it normal not to get passport back?

Hi, I have put in my ITA and have had a letter to say I will get a case officer and decision may take 7 months etc.

However, I have not had my passport returned, is this normal?

I have to travel to BUlgaria next month so need it

Hi Katiej35

Yes this is normal, when we submitted our stuff we had to travel to Ibiza the next month and needed our passports for that. so to get over it we had to submit certified copies instead. All I can suggest to you is that you call them A.S.A.P and explain your situation and ask them if it is possible they copy it there and return it to you, so this can allow you to travel next month.

We sent a quick email to our case officer & we got the passports back to us in a couple of days. I had to renwe mine before they would issue the visas as it only had 6 months to run.

I also had to pester them. Email worked for me.
