Default Non principal applicant and job offers

My wife is the principal applicant and has secured points for being on the skilled shortage list as a mental nurse. I score points for having a degree but I don't fall under the skilled shortage list, at least that's what I think! My question is, if I get a job offer will our ITA get pulled from the pile any faster?

Any help with this would be greatly appreicated. [smiley=023.gif]

Hmmmm, not ENTIRELY sure on this, but there will surely be some flexibility on NZIS part regarding your (joint afterall) application.
In which case you chances should be good.

Failing that however, a degree and a job offer = 100 points minimum and may well result in faster processing of case.

Regarding the intricacies of switching between principal applicants on EOI/ITA I'm afraid I have no further clue.

Hope this helps, post back your ponderings.

I am not sure either but it will be best to check with your CO. However, I believe there is some flexibility with NZIS...

You gain some extra points for getting a job offer, but it's only really the principle applicant that affects the application to any degree, unless of course your points are now over 140 due to your job.

Couldn't you switch the EOI to prinicpal applicant on 105 points with job offer from principal applicant with 140 points no job offer?

What's the point in that question, does your partner have blah balh to qualify as the principal applicant, bit of a random way of saying does the missis speak english surely, if that's all it is.

Default Non principal applicant - job offer

Hi
Just thought I'd let you know what happened to us.

Submitted ITA on 7 Feb 2006 with husband as principle applicant. I got job offer since and submitted it to NZIS on 24 February 2006. Got case officer allocated on 6 March 2006.

So in our case, my job offer as non principle applicant has moved us up the pile by at least 3 months.

Hope that helps
Rho.

Thanks guys for the information.

In an ideal world I'd work and my wife would settled the kids in before returning to work. As she's on the skilled shortage list we put her in as the principle applicant to be sure of securing the points.

Rho - just what i wanted, an example that it has worked for somebody else. Hope all goes well for you.

Adrian.

my wife is our principle applicant..
shes a midwife and secured a job offer over the phone..

we didn;t claim any points for my work or experience..
we had 155 points with her offer and if we'd added my stuff in, yes it would have bumped the points up a little, but then we'd have had the hassle of proving it all.
