Default Case Officer

Hi again

Have lodged our ITA on 7 February. Since then I have had a job offer. I have received the contract and faxed it through to NZIS last Friday and then posted it so it arrived on Monday morning.

It says in their letters and on their website that they prioritise job offers and that they 'immediately' allocate a case officer. Does anyone know how long it really takes to allocate the case officer - does it mean weeks rather than months, or maybe its days!!! Or would that be too good to be true.

Any thoughts?
Rho.

Hi Rho.

Congrats on the job offer and submission of the ITA.

I know NZIS will assign a case officer very soon when you have a genuine job offer. It maybe days and at most I guess one-two weeks. No I do not think it will be months.

Hi Rho,

What points score has your job taken you up to? If you now score pretty high, then you should see results pretty fast. I expect you will see something happen in the next week or so, your case will be reassessed for the points you are now claiming with a job offer, and if all is OK then you will be allocated a case officer immediately.

Unfortunately the 'immediately' part comes after the reassessment part! But that shouldn't be long, 10 days from receipt maximum I reckon :icon_biggrin:

Thank you all, its reassuring to know it won't be too long.

Points total - it was 125 - but we are being assessed on the points we had when we were ITA. Will have a look at what points should be now with job offer, as job is in shortage area.

Back again, just had a look at points and it takes us to 135. Not sure if you get any extra points for job offer in area of shortage. If you do, then point score will be a bit higher - as need all the points you can get.
