Immigration Fee changes

NZIS will change the imiigration fees as explained in the news on their webpage. Not sure if it will affect anyone who have received the ITA before this announcement. I was told in the ITA I have to submit a fee of NZ$1360 but my guess is that if I submit the package before 28 Nov, I should be paying the old fee still unless I am wrong. Anyway...good information for all who are in the process of submitting the ITA.[/b:24d8fc0c89]

Fees for immigration applications will change on 28 November 2005.
The changes are part of an annual review that seeks to ensure that our fees align with the actual costs of providing immigration services. Some fees will now better reflect the Government?s immigration objectives.

Please note that while the fees in NZ dollars may change with each review, offshore fees may change more frequently due to currency fluctuations.

The changes are summarised in the following table.

The publication New Zealand Immigration?s Guide to Fees (NZIS 1028) and the NZIS Operational Manual will be updated on the 28 November 2005.

The fees calculator on our website, which shows fees in foreign currencies, will also be updated at this time. Fees in foreign currencies will also be available shortly from the appropriate offshore branches.

New fees
Permit granted after s35A consideration
At the moment applicants are charged the relevant student, work, or visitor permit application fee if their application is being considered and is granted under Section 35A of the Immigration Act 1987 (ie if your permit has expired before you submit your application). A new fee of $180 has been introduced for applications considered and granted under section 35A. The new fee will be charged instead of, not as well as, the regular temporary entry fee.

Approved Destination Status (ADS) Group Visitor Visa
A reduced fee has been introduced for group visas issued to applicants of ADS travel agents in China. This fee reflects the shorter processing times associated with these applications.[b:24d8fc0c89][/b:24d8fc0c89]

Have WHVs gone down then? I'm sure they were like 200NZD before?

It doesn't actually mention WHVs in the table, but there have been some decreases as well as increases.

Apologized for the "cut & paste" technique that did not work out nicely.. :icon_mrgreen:

But yes, there are some increases and decreases. I have written to my officer in charge in NZIS to check if I will pay the increased fee even I have up to next year to submit my papers. Will revert to all soon.

Hi there,

I promised to revert after checking with my immigration officer. We have to pay more for the residency application fee after Nov 28 no matter if your application dateline is after that date. Anyway, a small fee in comparison to the new life we all aiming for.
