Default Convince potential employer to offer a job

Hi,

I received my ITA on 03 Oct 2005. I think I will be in a better position to get the residency approved if I have a job offer in NZ.

How do any of you manage to convince potential employer to offer a job even before the residency visa is approved besides having revelant technical expertise and work experience? :icon_rolleyes:

Default Convince potential employer to offer a job

[img:77d75b0d51]http://www.smilieportal.de/smiliegenerator/ablage/12/374.png[/img:77d75b0d51]

There is a tendency for some NZ employers not to take potential employees too seriously when they aren?t already in NZ. This is probably due to quite a few dropping out of the immigration process along the way and never actually getting as far as NZ. Employers seem to show more interest when you are in front of them, as they know then that you have made a big commitment to get there. Having said that, it is quite possible to get a job offer whilst still in your base country, so it is worth trying. Attempting to convince an employer to take you on is down to how persuasive and convincing you are and this is the same wherever you apply for a job. I suppose it depends a lot on whether your particular skills are what they are looking for. Having a job offer should certainly help to speed up your PR application.

Good luck in your search.

Thanks Mother Bear, I fully agreed with you. At the same time, I have seen some members who have succeeded to secure a job before arriving in NZ and that is very encouraging.

I am trying my best to secure a job offer and possibly even travel to NZ for any interviews. I have some luck previously with job agencies to arrange for interviews but they rejected me because my EOI was not even selected. Now I have the ITA, hopefully, the job agencies will change their opinion and give me and others like me some opportunities.

That will certainly help a lot... :112:

Cheers!
